Jena works with youth (13 - 18 years old) and adults who suffer from trauma, stress, relationship issues, boundary setting, anxiety, depression, and sexual and gender exploration. Jena has a special interest working with the LGBTQ* community and strives to make a safe and welcoming space for them. She also has a passion for working with addictions and has 10+ years experience working with this population in residential treatment settings and, more recently, private practice. Recently she taught psycho-educational workshops in a residential inpatient setting. The workshops were about concurrent disorders, self-esteem, anger management, and healthy communication.

Jena works primarily from an attachment lens and is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). She also uses techniques from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Therapy.

Jena is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, Psychologists Association of Alberta member, and EMDR therapist. She received her Bachelor of Science, Specialization in Psychology with Completion of the Industrial Internship in Psychology from the University of Alberta (2013). She completed her Masters of Counseling Psychology at City University of Seattle - Calgary Campus.

In her spare time, Jena can usually be found doing something active like climbing, hiking, Muay Thai, or lifting weights. When not being active she likes to spend time with her nephew, reading books, or sitting down with her partner watching movies or playing video games.
